Microsoft released public betas of several applications from Windows Live. This beta release aims to test new functionality and technology from Windows Live as part of ongoing development to provide communication services that help consumers stay in touch, share their experiences and keep their lives in sync. To get the public betas for any of these services, customers can go to http://download.live.com. The Windows Live public beta updates will be available in all markets including the following features:

- Windows Live Movie Maker beta
- Windows Live Writer beta
- Windows Live Toolbar beta
- Windows Live Family Safety
- Microsoft Office Outlook® Connector beta
