Question: I have Windows Vista. When I try to save a file to my HD and Flash device I get this error message:

X:\Folder\FileName You don’t have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in the Documents folder instead?

This problem occurs because your hard disk or the flash device was formatted with an earlier version of Windows NTFS file system. Another error message you might see i:

    Access to X:\Folder\FileName was denied

To fix this error message, first back up all of your data to another location.

Click START, click COMPUTER, right click on the drive or device and click FORMAT. (You might be prompted at this point to enter an administrator password. If so, type it in and continue.)

Select the NTFS file system in the list

    Click START

Close the FORMAT LOCAL DISK dialog box after the formatting is finished.
