After installation, Windows Vista will prompt you with the ‘Welcome Center’ that is designed to aid beginners to configure their new computer. If you’ve learned your way around Vista, and want to get rid of this Welcome center, here’s how you do it:
- Start Regedit.
- Find your way to HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion, Run.
- Right click on the WindowsWelcomeCenter key and select Delete.
The next time you start your computer, the annoying Welcome Center will no longer be there.
Note: A healthy registry is crucial for the proper functioning of your computer. This is the reason why you should be careful while making any direct changes to the registry.
